  • Read Psalm 30:1-12 together.
  • What themes do you notice in David’s prayer?
  • David was prosperous and he was shattered. Why did this give him a unique perspective on the mercies of God?
  • Read Psalm 51:1-19 together.
  • This psalm was written after David’s sin with Bathsheba. What do you hear in David’s psalm that tells you about David’s heart?
  • Why would God not reject David and install a new king? His sin was far worse than Saul’s.
  • What do you suppose the people in David’s kingdom thought about him once his sin was made known? How does this compare and contrast to how God saw David?
  • Read Psalm 86:1-17 together.
  • Why does David speak so much about God’s unfailing love?
  • How can David be so adamant when praying to God after all that he did?
  • Spend some time in prayer together before dismissing.
